KNOWLEDGE SHALL INCREASE
Genesis 2: 15 -17: The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree in the garden you may eat freely. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you must not eat. For the very day you eat of it you will surely die.
We all know what happened after that. The devil came to Eve and said: Hath God said ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said; We may eat of every tree in the garden except the tree in the midst of the garden. God has said you shall not eat of it lest you die. Then the devil said; Ye shall not surely die: for God doeth surely know that in the day you eat thereof your eyes shall be opened and ye shall be as gods, with KNOWLEDGE of good and evil. Notice that this is what the devil is telling people today as they become puffed up on knowledge. He says, "Don't you know that you are gods already. With knowledge you can forge your own destiny" However, with the power obtained by knowledge in the hand of selfish, greedy men satan knows they will ultimately destroy themselves.
Adam's wife, Eve, was beguiled by the devil and she ate of the tree, then she entice her husband to eat of it also. Their eyes were opened all right, but they didn't become gods. Instead they were filled with shame when they lost their innocence as the children of God and became sinners. The first knowledge that they obtained was that they were naked. Because of their disobedience they inherited death. However, God, at the same time, gave them hope as well. He told Eve that she would give birth to offspring in great sorrow (suffering) but that her seed would give mankind salvation by bruising satan's head. We know that all woman have great suffering with childbirth, more so, than any other creature. We also know that Jesus, the seed of Eve, indeed bruised the head of satan and gave mankind salvation if they chose Jesus. For he is the only way to eternal life.
However, the seed of Adam grew more violent and evil as time went on. He became much like he is today. After almost 2000 years of patience God sent a great flood upon the earth and destroyed them all. Only Noah, a righteous man before god, and his family, were saved. All the while that Noah was building the ark, God gave men the opportunity to repent. They knew he was building it; and they knew why. Probably like men are today, they only laughed at him and said he was crazy. When he told them judgment was coming, they only scoffed. Jesus said as it was at the time of Noah so shall it be at the time of the coming of the son of man.
But again, man began to sin after the flood and worship other gods. They built cities and started to build a huge tower. (Genesis 11: 1-8) Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there. They said to each other, "Come, let's make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth." But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building. The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other." So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth. The tower was called Babel because there the LORD confused the language of the whole world. God confounded their languages so that they could not understand each other. Then they gathered together in language groups and scattered over the whole earth. God knew that man had the intellectual capability to do just about any thing he set himself to do. In the following paragraphs, I will show you why God did not allow this capability to develop.
The theme of this whole paper is built on a prophesy in the book of Daniel concerning knowledge. Daniel 12:1-4: And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. They that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the heavens; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. But you Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
This word spoken to Daniel the prophet 2600 years ago, said that at the time of the end knowledge shall increase. God said that he was going to hold back knowledge until the time of the end. This is indeed happening by leaps and bounds in this day we now live. Therefore, we know this is "the last days". We also see people traveling all over the globe in a matter of hours. God knew that mankind had this capability to do remarkable things for he said as much in the time of the tower of Babble. However, history has recorded the evidence of the restraining hand of God on man's collection of knowledge. The first evidence of the beginning of the "scientific method" was seen in ancient Greece. Aristotle was the son of the physician to king Phillip of Macedonia. He was born about 400 BC. Aristotle was the forerunner of Roger Bacon and other modern scientists. He grew up in the court of Philip and was a friend of Alexander the son of Philip. After the assassination of Phillip, Alexander came to the throne. Aristotle had been Alexander's friend since childhood.. He was a born scientist and believed in investigating and collecting data on the natural science of the world about him. Alexander supported his endeavors to gather scientific data. He even built him a great natural history museum in Alexandria, Egypt . At one time Aristotle had at his disposal a thousand men scattered through out Asia and Greece gathering data for his scientific endeavors. They gathered data not only on natural science but on political systems as well. However, the early death of Alexander put an end to Aristotle's endeavors. So that 50 years after Aristotle's death, scientific progress came to a standstill. This standstill in knowledge lasted for almost 2000 years. Why did it take so long for knowledge to become such an important factor in the society of mankind? Because God had said that it would increase at the time of the end.
Along about the 10th century a revival of Greek literature came about. Men began to investigate old Greek manuscripts. But only the rich and the educated valued these things. So, it did little to change society at that time. However, it did change the outlook of some of the people that read them. It brought about a revival of learning called the renaissance.
The next significant event that took place was the invention of the printing press. Man first learned to write 4000 years ago in ancient Egypt. Yet, it took him almost 4000 years to invent the printing press. The printing press was such a simple concept. Put a letter on a block add some dye and stamp it on a roll of papyrus. However, it took many thousands of years before one was invented. This again, indicates the restraining hand of God. It was not until the 15th century that the printing press was invented. Before this, knowledge could only be passed to other generations by handwriting. It was a long tedious task to compile and write a book. Books were few and far between. Even then, few men knew how to read and cared less to learn. Much knowledge was lost because of this. The advancement of knowledge didn't start at a rapid pace until the 19th century. Do all these facts tell you that if God says knowledge will increase at the time of the end, it happens.
All down through the centuries there has been a group of paganistic people who have opposed God and his purposes in this world. In the book of Revelations Jesus refers to a group of people he calls Nicolaitans. (Rev. 2;15) Jesus says that he hates their doctrine (teaching). Many writers refer to them as Gnostics. Webster's Dictionary says that the word gnosis means knowledge. They were a pagan group who were said to have a mystic gnosis that was revealed to them by a "higher" god than Jehovah. These people esteem knowledge as the savior of mankind. They claimed that the Jewish God Jehovah is a second rate God. They said that He was an outlaw god who disobeyed the "higher" gods when he created the earth. According to them, he was wrong in keeping Adam and Eve from obtaining knowledge. These people still exist today. Many people believe the things they teach. They hate Jews and Christians as well. Hitler was one of these fatuous people. They have opposed and hated the God of the bible all down through the centuries. This writer strongly believes that they are the political system of the beast that will rise out of the earth. This means that they have been a religious and political system in the earth for many centuries. (Rev 13:11) These people invaded the Church of Jesus Christ not long after the death of the apostles. The church became more and more paganistic.
Gnosticism is noted for having a mysterious inner circle of men who are probably in direct contact with the devil. These evil men are said to have a mysterious gnosis.(knowledge) This is why the priesthood became so prevalent in the church. The priesthood has existed since Moses. It also existed in the pagan religions of those days. This is the chief reason Jesus came to the earth the first time. Jesus came to establish the Melchedeck priesthood and allow the Holy Ghost to enter into men's hearts and rule. Jesus did not mean for men to rule his church. The Holy Ghost is the teacher and guide of the REAL church. (Matthew 16: 15-18) He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answereh and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Many today believe that the church was built on the person of Peter. But look closely, He said he would build his church on THIS ROCK. The rock Jesus was talking about was not Peter but the REVELATION that Peter received by the Holy Ghost. Then, it's the Holy Ghost that rules the church, not a group of selected men. The Holy Ghost rules the hearts of men and women in the true church. However after the establishment of the priesthood in the church, it was ruled by a small group of men in the high places. Because the common people could not read the bible, the church was degraded to paganism and superstition. Anyone who disagreed with the doctrines of the church was brutally murdered. Men established the doctrines of this church, not the word of God found in the bible. The church had great power during the middle ages. It was a completely different church than the church the apostles founded on the revelation of Jesus Christ. Some of this Gnostic paganism was put aside during the reformation, but it is making a comeback today under the guise of the new age movement. It is known that a small group of very rich and powerful men are plotting to establish a "one world" government and a "one world" religion. These men have been working undercover for many years to subvert our government. A few TRUE Christians are found in all the churches. Many will be persecuted and killed. But do not fear them, Christian Brothers, God spoke of these events many centuries ago to the prophet Daniel. Jehovah is still the most HIGH GOD. These "spirit guides" that are revealing "gnosis" to the new agers are the same demon spirits who called Jesus the Son of the most high God. These demons know who the MOST HIGH GOD is. They are not deceived; its these poor, fatuous people who are deceived.
Many of you who have read this so far may be asking yourself; why has God deprived mankind of knowledge for all these years? Isn't knowledge essential for the survival of mankind? The reason is simple. God had a work to do. This work was Jesus Christ the son of the living God. God sent Him to this earth to undo the sin of Adam and open the door to eternal life. Most all religions have a human figurehead upon which their religion is based. The Hindus and Buddhists have Buddha. The Zoroastrians have Zoraster. The ancient Jews had Moses. Jesus told the Pharisees that they were like "white washed tombs" filled with dead men's bones. Their religion was based on rules and ordinances established by men whose bones lay in the graveyard. The apostle Paul said the Law was good but it did not have the power to give life. Paul said, "Oh wretched man that I am. Who will deliver me from the body of this death"? But he went on to answer his own question. "There is now no condemnation (sentence of death) to those in Christ Jesus. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has delivered me from the law of sin and death". Christianity is not based on a man lying in a graveyard. Yes, dear ones, our saviour's bones will never be found. His apostles witnessed his ascension to the Father, IN THE FLESH. He did not go off as a spirit to join some nebulous entity called karma. His flesh and bones are the only ones who have ever stood before the face of the Father. Those who believe in Jesus and obey him have already been delivered into life, real life, eternal life.
The work that Jesus Christ did was the work that God intended to finish before He allowed men to have access to knowledge of the creation. Jesus said "I work and the Father works. I do always the things I see my Father do. You will notice that God did not open knowledge to people right after the resurrection. He has waited patiently for almost 2000 years. It is not God"s will that any should perish but that all should be saved. However, you must choose whom you will serve. He does not force people to serve his Christ; you must come of your own free will. He does not want robots to serve him like the ones who are hooked on drugs and pornography.
Yes, God has waited patiently for 2000 years. He told Daniel, "at the time of the end he would release knowledge to mankind. Now, these pagan Gnostics are being given their "Gnosis". With the advent of computer science knowledge has increased at such a rate it is fantastic. Medical science has also progressed at a very rapid pace. At the turn of the century the average life-span was only about 50 years. Now it is over 70 years. Yet we still die! Medical science is not the savior of mankind. Neither is Knowledge. This writer once worked for the government. Management showed their employees a graph of the rate of knowledge mankind had accumulated for the last 4000 years. The line stayed right on the baseline until the 20th century then it shot right off the paper. It was a real true life picture of the increase of knowledge in this century. So, what's wrong with knowledge? This can be answered by looking at what men have done with this knowledge. Our rivers are polluted. some so badly that we can smell them before we get to them. Our atmosphere is polluted. Ozone holes and the greenhouse effect are plaguing mankind. Special equipment must be installed on automobiles to stop air pollution. It is costing the people of California thousand of dollars annually. The food we eat is polluted with growth hormones and insecticides. Horrible biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons are threatening people with annihilation. Our Father, Jehovah God, knew these things would happen when selfish, greedy men obtained this knowledge they wanted so badly. Are you beginning to see why God has held back knowledge from mankind? It doesn't sound like Jehovah is such a second rate God after all does it?
God also knew that these pagan Gnostics would never turn to him for salvation. Instead, they would establish a one world government in an attempt to save themselves. If some one had tried to establish a one world government back in the 1800's it would have been a miserable failure. why? Because at that time it took men 6 months to cross the Atlantic ocean. Travel was very slow. Mankind could only communicate by written messages that took months to get across the world. A one world government would have been impossible at that time. But with the advent of increasing knowledge communication can traverse the world in a matter of seconds. By the use of air travel men can cross the Atlantic ocean in a matter of hours, not Months. That's why a one world government is a very real thing now. God predicted through the apostle John 20 centuries ago that at the time of the end there would be a one world government. He also knew that this one world government would be headed by the devil possessed anti-Christ. (Revelations 13:7-8) And it was given unto him (the anti Christ) to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear. You can certainly see evidence of this at the present time. These "global" promoters are very tolerant of all religions but one. They teach children to pray to "mother Earth" in the schools, but will not allow the name of Jesus Christ to be mentioned. The very mention of Jesus turns them off. They are taking his name out of our schools, our homes, and our churches. When they mention his name, he is one of the masters. To those that love him he is the master. These people await one "greater"?? than him. The great maitrea, the epitome of evil. Yes, God has turned gnosis over to them and, with it, they will destroy themselves, unless God intervenes. There is only one outlook for selfishness that has unlimited power; self destruction! Let the wise see and understand.
Yes, we know by these things that are coming to pass that we are truly in the last days. We look about us and see that man is destroying the earth with his knowledge. We are in danger of annihilating our selves by war. Jehovah is not a second rate God. Paul predicted that in the last days there would be a great falling away. Sinners have no where to fall from. This falling away would be in the church. Those who have the spirit of Jesus Christ dwelling in them will not be fooled by a man calling himself god. But those who have given themselves over to violence, sexual promiscuity, homosexuality, and greed, as they did in the time of Noah, will not know him. Church of Jesus Christ, fill your lamps with the oil of the spirit. Be prepared. for the time is at hand. Only a few things have yet to be fulfilled. God has said, " I will make a short work in that day. (Romans 9: 28) For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. 29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodom, and been made like unto Gomorra.
