AND PILOT SAID, "WHAT IS TRUTH"
Daniel 12 : 14 But you, oh Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book even to the time of the end: Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase......
2nd Timothy chap. 3... Paul says that in the last days perilous times shall come. He then describes how wicked men shall be... lovers of themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ect....He says they will have a form of godliness but denying the power thereof. What is the power of God? 1st Cor. 1: 24 says: But unto them who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Jesus Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Then in verse 7 Paul says, "Ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of the TRUTH."
These prophesies indicate that in the last days the knowledge of men will increase. These things are certainly true in the present time. For instance, in the electronic field alone knowledge is increasing so fast that a device in the computer built today is out moded tomorrow. It is very hard to keep abreast of the new developments. Its the same in the field of medicine or any other scientific field. Now that computers are so commonplace knowledge is increasing faster that people can keep up. It can sometimes be mind-boggling. We have developed into a fantastic technological society in these modern times. Men have observed the physical world for centuries and by patient trial and error they have formulated mathematics expressions called physical laws. By taking these laws and applying them to preconceived ideas, we have developed our great technologies. This was done by strictly adhering to these observable truths. Each man of science carefully wrote everything down to the most minute detail. They set up standards in weights and measures so that all experimentation could be done with exact quantative methods. You can imagine the confusion there would have been if there had been no standards in weights and measures when these men started to compare their results in the scientific journals. So, you see, mankind built his great technological society by strictly adhering to truth. This truth was based on the physical world as God created it. When God creates it is good and in great order. Most everything He made was in patterns and symmetry. Mankind is able to see the great intelligence of his creator, God. Every one that is, but a few fools. Without this order men would never have developed the system of mathematics. Every law of physics happens in the same way each time, under the same conditions of temperature and pressure. mankind could never have conceived of numbers and patterns without this order. If chaos had reigned there would have been no mathematics or science. If atoms had not combined in simple ratios of one another to form compounds, the science of chemistry would not exist. Our blessed God is a God of "law and order". Praise his great name! Lucifer is the god of confusion, chaos, and disorder.
So we see that our technology has been built on truth; physical truth. Why? Because what God has created is good and it has great order in it. How then could Paul say that men are ever learning but never coming to the truth? In order to answer this question I must ask another question; Who has built our society? God didn't, man did. In our relationships to each other we are unable to face the truth. Different races hate each other, even in the same race different ethnic and religious groups hate each other. One says this is truth the other says that is truth and no one is able to accept the real truth when he hears it. Jesus Christ came 2000 years ago and gave us commandments of unselfishness and love for one another and his words are called "idealistic foolishness". We sent out great rockets loaded with scientific instruments in order to learn the "Secrets" of the universe while millions die each year for lack of food and vaccines. Yet the ONE who came to show us that much more than the universe is available to mankind if he would believe on the one whom the Father has sent. So instead of believing him we have the technological ability to annihilate ourselves. Yet we are still unable to get along with our neighbor. We have missed the real truth. We are like a huge Goliath giant on one side and a 98 pound weakling on the other. We adhere to scientific truth but have very little concept of spiritual and sociological truth, in fact, we do our best to discredit it.
Pilot the Roman governor who crucified Jesus Christ asked the Lord this famous question," what is truth"? Even then 2000 years ago men asked this question. They have asked it for a long time and they still are asking it. So, what is truth? Truth by its very nature must be absolute. It cannot change from one day to the next or from one generation to the other or even from one eon to another. It must stand for all eternity, an indisputable fact. Man's definition does not always stand this test. You can hear them say," We are in a world of changing truths". But as we have said absolute truth can never change. Men change and they change what they call truth to justify their changes. We hear men say in this day that since this is a changing world you must change with it. They say this in order to justify their wickedness and immorality as they move away from God. Since man has built his modern society and his apostate philosophy on science, let me ask this question. Are the laws of science truth? Will they stand forever? Let me state one of the laws that science holds as truth. This This law defines a term called entropy This definition came from the Funk and Wagnall’s dictionary. Entropy physics: Is a mathematical expression of the degree to which the energy of a thermodynamic system is unavailable to do work. eg. It is the irreversible tendency of a system, including the universe toward increasing disorder. Also, the final state predictable from this. This is the scientific way of saying that the universe is mowing toward a state of absolute zero.......... death! All molecular notion must cease, and death will reign throughout the universe.
So, you see, all these scientific laws that men call truths are not absolute. They will not operate in death. All the great philosophies and religions that men have made up by the help of satan, are not absolute. They will not operate in the complete absence of energy...death. All religions that are based on flesh (reincarnation), evolution ect, will fall to the wayside long before then, even if Jesus Christ didn't return. The little man with the large head and the spindly segs, a product of the imagination of the evolutionist, will lie cold and still in his self made frozen bubble, long dead, as the last red star goes out. The words of Jesus will live forever in the body of Christ, "Know you not that you must be born again"?
We then ask, if these things are not truth then what is truth? There is only one thing that is absolute truth, that is almighty God and his word. Because he is all powerful, what he is and what he says must be eternal truth. His word is the only thing in this universe that is truth. He is the all powerful God who spoke in Hebrews 1:11 " The heavens and the Earth shall wax old as a garment and be folded away, but my WORD will never pass away. All men should praise him because he is good. Jesus was the WORD made flesh. He was the manifestation of God in the flesh. His word was absolute just as the Father's is. Praise God, every word that he spoke was good. If all men obeyed him satan would be bound because he can’t operate in love.
