The Power Of Truth
What is the the definition of absolute truth? It must be unchanging and eternal to be absolute truth. As we look at our universe we see that only almighty God and his word fits this description. Today we are going to study the power of truth by studying two common subjects, science and sociology. As we look back into the history of science we see the power found in a system that adheres strictly to truth. Back in the early days of scientific experimentation we saw men like Isaac Neuton; Roger Bacon, Faraday. Ohm and many others preforming their experiments and recording data. They soon found they could apply mathematical statements to these physical experiments and calculate the end results even before the experiment was preformed. These mathemetical statements are called the laws of physics.

It is this law and order that God has placed in his creation that caused the development of mathemetics in the first place. Because of the symmetry and order in the human body each hand has 5 fingers for a total of 10. Do you think this has any bearing on our number system being based on the number 10? What if God had made hands with 2,4,6,10, or any haphazard number of fingers; could primitive man have compared their counting results with any order? Without order in our universe there would have been no patterns or numerical unity so mathemetics would never have developed. Without mathemetics there would have been no reason, logic, or science at all. Many men have denied the existence of God. The bible calls the man who says in his heart there is no God a fool. These people say it all came about by chance. The statistical number that all this order came about in our universe by chance would be so astronomical that these men would not only be fools they could also be stupid.

Thus we see that these men of science adhered strictly to truth in the collection of their data. Any man who was found to purposely report false data in the scientific journals was ridiculed and "black balled". Because scientists have adhered to truth so faithfully, we have developed a technological society that borders on the fantastic. Read about medical science, computer science, computer controlled machines, whatever, it can boggle your mind. We see then that there is great power in the strict adherence to truth. Our advanced technologies prove this.

But what about sociology? Does mankind adhere to truth with the same tenacity in his dealings with his fellow man? Pick out a common word, lets say we choose the word truth. How many people would agree with our definition for truth? Many would say we are in a world of changing truths. But we say truth cannot change.Others would say that truth applies only for the moment. Our language is filled with many inflections and nuances on words. Its almost impossible to call anything absolute truth in our world societies. Polls are taken to obtain public opinion of critical issues but polls can be made to show anything one wants by asking questions of the right people. There are no absolutes in sociological issues. Jews have their "truths" about Arabs and Arabs have their "truths" about Jews. "Whites" have their "truths about "blacks" and visa versa. And so it goes the world over. No one seems to be able to face absolute truth even if it hurts, much less do anything about it. Jesus Christ came to the world with absolute social truth and the world calls it idealistic foolishness. However, if the whole world kept his social truth the world would become heaven on earth. Every man, every nation, every race of men has his own view of sociological truth, therefore, the power found in the world of science is missing in our relationships to each other. Because mankind is too selfish to live according to absolute truth we are unable to control the technology that science has developed. Our earth is polluted with industrial waste. We are in danger of annihilating our selves with chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons. Will it take a horrible war in order to see that the words of Jesus Christ will indeed judge the world?
